If you’re looking at a lot of career websites, you may feel that many look and sound the same. So in preparing our site, we asked our people to tell us what they thought made us stand out. Their answer? Our dynamic.
There’s a sense of trust that runs through the firm. A desire to share knowledge and work collaboratively. An emphasis on building deep relationships with clients and with each other. We are an international law firm that feels, to the people who work here, more like a community – one, most importantly, where you can always be yourself. Throughout this site, we’ll try to show you how.
There are many ways to experience our firm. Whether you join us on an insight event, vacation scheme or training contract, or as a campus ambassador, you'll get an insider's view of life as a city lawyer.
Training contracts
Our lawyers are known for being practical,
commercial and relationship-driven. They’ve made us a true business
partner to our clients while building our reputation as a bold,
distinctive law firm. Our two-year training contract will help you
develop the same set of skills.
The structure – four six-month ‘seats’ rather than six – means you experience four different areas of law fully, gain a broad legal perspective and get a good idea of the field that inspires you most. Two of your seats will be in our corporate and finance groups, and another in one of our litigation teams. You’ll also have the chance to complete a secondment to one of our international offices or the in-house legal team of a major client.
Vacation schemes
Up to 60 trainee solicitors join us each
year. Around half of them have taken part in one of our vacation
schemes. These schemes are the perfect launch pad for a legal career.
Working alongside partners, associates and trainees, you’ll spend up to
three weeks supporting client work in key practice areas like corporate,
finance and litigation. You’ll draft documents, go to meetings, do legal
research and, where possible, attend court. It’s invaluable hands-on
learning that’s reinforced by tailored workshops, discussions, case
studies, work shadowing, social events and more.
