What’s your role?

I’ve been here six months, during which time I was in the graduate Sales and Marketing Academy. Since completing that, I’ve moved into being part of the New Business Sales team here at Express Vending, helping to source new business for the company.

Why sales?

During university, I could never decide on a career path. When I started job hunting properly, I realised that I had the characteristics that companies looked for in a sales person. That made me consider sales as a career – and here I am now!

How have you developed since you’ve been at Express Vending?

My first four months were part of the graduate Academy, so there was a lot of training – both in-house, and on-the-job. Since starting, my confidence has soared. I’m much more independent, organised and self-assured – they really develop you as a person here.

What is it like to work at Express Vending?

The environment is lively. It’s full of people who like to have fun, but also know how to work hard as part of your team. It’s got the perfect balance. Everyone’s approachable, everyone’s friendly, everyone’s helpful – and there’s a great feeling of friendly competition. We all want to do well here, and it’s something you can really feed off.

Tell me about the Academy?

I joined the Academy as one of five people. Two of us are now in the New Business Sales team and the other three are in the CRM (Customer Relations) team. We all trained together, did camera roll play together, and did script work. We were always going to make mistakes, but the relationships you build and the support of your team make all the learning curves so much easier.
