About us
You know Next, but did you know we're a FTSE-100 retail company employing over 35,000 people across the UK and Ireland. We're the UK's 2nd largest fashion retailer and for Kidswear we're the market leader. At the last count we have over 500 stores, plus the Next Online and it's now possible to buy on-line from over 70 countries around the world! So we've gone global!
Your role
While you'll have heard our name, there's a lot you probably don't know about NEXT. Like how we facilitate eCommerce for numerous other brands that don't have the scale and know-how we do. And that after over 40 years, we're growing faster than ever.
Technology drives what we do. Plain and simple. As we're going through a huge change as a business, we need a solid team with us who are committed to driving our tech forward.
You'll play a key part in migrating our platforms from our own servers to the cloud. This will give you hands-on experience with a range of technologies, including Infrastructure-as-code to build and manage environments automatically and Azure DevOps for creating automated pipelines that build and release software. You'll also work with Docker and Kubernetes to run applications in containers, and use PowerShell and other scripts to automate tasks.
You'll also get to work with both Windows and Linux servers, as well as SQL databases. Additionally, you'll learn how our applications are built using the .NET Framework and C#, gaining a solid understanding of the entire development lifecycle.
As a member of the team, you'll help project teams use our cloud environments efficiently and collaborate with our brilliant in-house security and auditing teams. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact on our migration projects from day one.
You'll be doing all this from our Leicestershire Head Office. A fast-paced, encouraging, and supportive environment in which everyone brings an energy and a commitment to delivering for our customers and their own careers.
Bring your energy. Play to your strengths. Make things bigger and better than before. Be Brave Be You Be NEXT.
