What is Consulting?

Our Consulting teams immerse themselves in our clients’ businesses, applying sector knowledge and technological solutions to help companies grow and thrive. As a graduate here, you will have limitless opportunities to work on interesting projects and really make your mark. We offer programmes across a range of areas, such as Customer, Risk & Regulatory, People, Financial and Operational Transformation through to Governance, Risk & Compliance Services (GCRS).

KPMG Governance Risk & Compliance Services (GRCS) Graduate Programme

On our GRCS Graduate Programme, you’ll learn how businesses operate, what risks they face and how major decisions are made. You’ll develop and refine specialist business and accounting skills whilst improving our clients’ governance, risk management and control environments.

Our GRCS teams provide insight and commercial recommendations that support clients in achieving their business objectives, by conducting in-depth analysis and assessments of data and business processes. Our services include Internal Audit and Risk Assurance, as well as Governance, Risk and Compliance.

Internal Audit is all about independent assurance that an organisation's risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively. You’ll learn how to apply a combination of assurance and consulting skills to look beyond financial risks and financial statements, and consider wider issues such as the organisation's reputation, growth, environmental factors, and the way it treats its employees.

As part of our Governance, Risk and Compliance teams, you’ll help organisations in areas such as governance and risk services, internal controls transformation and internal controls compliance services. The key is to help organisations identify and then effectively mitigate the risks that could prevent them from meeting their strategic objectives.

We’ll empower you to do work that makes a positive difference to the businesses and communities we serve, as you grow in your own way and build the career you want.

Training and Benefits

With the KPMG community by your side, you’ll have the support to grow in your own way, gaining learning for a lifetime. You’ll have access to funded, relevant professional qualifications or accreditations and an extensive programme of internal training geared towards your career and personal development. As a GCRS graduate, you’ll study towards the ACA Accelerated qualification or CA equivalent in Scotland.

We offer a competitive salary and a host of great benefits too, including 25 days’ holiday, study leave and a day off on your birthday. What’s more, you can take up to six days of time off to take part in volunteering initiatives.

Our firm’s hybrid working model balances the flexibility of working from home with the importance of collaborating and learning in offices or at client sites. We trust our people to be where our clients need them to be, with our client-facing colleagues working together in person as often as needed. You’ll be empowered by the technology that supports us to work flexibly and our collaborative office spaces, building friendships and shared experiences, innovating, and learning together.
