This festive season has seen plenty of activity on graduate-jobs.com. You might think that while students and graduates alike are migrating home for Christmas that finding a job is at the back of their mind. However, you would be wrong. The festive season is an excellent period to look for jobs, especially at graduate level. The reasons are many. As I wrote in another blog, graduates and students can look to use the festive break as a bit of respite after the first term, and before the third year finally bites. While, on the other hand, those who have graduated already might find the trip home that extra bit of impetus to get some applications sent off.

Morgan are offering internships in a variety of areas and departments. BT's Graduate Business Programmes have been in the #Hottestjobsintheworld top 5 for several weeks now. This immovable and highly attractive role is open for bright and talented graduates to get involved across the business and develop their skills in Project Management, Sales or Client Engagement. This role requires graduates to be determined, tenacious and driven, otherwise they will not be able to cope with the demanding and highly rewarding environment. BT want their applicants to demonstrate an awareness and passion for business and customers.
Finally deposed from the top spot, British Airways has to settle for second spot. This scheme has been reigning supreme for several weeks but at long last has been knocked off its perch. The scheme is an excellent all in career for graduates to start in. The roles are Leaders for Business, Finance, Engineering, Operational Research, Procurement, IT (Software Engineer & Infrastructure Engineer), HR, Commercial Analyst and Cargo. These all demand graduates have the minimum of a 2:1 and show a real aptitude and enthusiasm for their chosen career path.
...and the officially the #Hottestjobintheworld over the Festive period is...
This week's winner is Cross Country's General Management Programme! It has jumped straight to the top of the list, having never featured in the #Hottestjobsintheworld before. The role is based in Birmingham and requires the graduate to demonstrate a minimum of a 2:2 qualification with customer service or similar skills. Cross Country Trains, as part of the Arriva Group, look for graduates to really demonstrate a passion for the company and the work it undertakes. Over 18 months of the scheme, graduates are supported in their development, but may be asked to move away from the Birmingham base further down the line. By James Howell
