Lloyds Banking Group - Consumer Lending Graduate Scheme

Lloyds Banking Group

Shaping the future of lending

Consumer banking is changing fast - and we want grads who can change it with us.

The Consumer Lending Graduate Scheme is designed to develop our next generation of product leaders - curious thinkers, data explorers and customer-first creators who can turn insight into innovation. You'll learn how products are built, launched and evolved to meet changing customer needs. And you'll do it all on real projects that impact millions of people, seeing your ideas move from whiteboard to launch day.

This programme is one of two Consumer Banking graduate routes at Lloyds Banking Group. If your interest lies more in Customer Relationships - digital engagement, service and propositions - be sure to review that programme too before you apply.

Two years. Two major placements.

You'll rotate across two 12-month placements designed to build expertise in Consumer Lending, the centre of excellence for mortgages, loans, cards, car finance and leasing:

  • Product & Platform - learn how products are diversified, managed and delivered. Work on customer journey design, digital experiences and platform innovation.
  • Strategic Partnerships - work with major partners such as Jaguar Land Rover to shape new products, manage relationships and ensure safe, profitable delivery.

The skills you'll master

By the end of the scheme, you'll be:

  • Financially literate - confident in how banks make decisions and generate revenue.
  • Product-focused - skilled in diversification, management and delivery of lending products.
  • Insight-driven - using data to validate strategy and improve journeys.
  • Relationship-ready - building and managing partnerships that add value.
  • AI-capable - using AI tools to work smarter and faster.
  • Agile-minded - solving problems collaboratively and delivering at pace.

You'll also have the chance to study for your CIMA qualification, boosting your financial and strategic expertise even further.

The work you could be doing

  • Researching customer behaviour to improve lending products.
  • Shaping new journeys for mortgages, loans or car finance.
  • Leading cross-team projects to deliver change.
  • Working with external partners to bring new propositions to market.
  • Supporting greener, more sustainable ways to live and borrow.

Support to succeed

You'll be backed with:

  • Leadership interaction and sponsorship.
  • A buddy to guide you through your first year.
  • Access to learning academies, Viva Learning and internal platforms.
  • Opportunities to contribute to sustainability and inclusion initiatives.

Your career. Fully backed.

You'll finish with the expertise, confidence and network to lead in Consumer Lending - ready to shape products, manage partnerships and help millions of customers access the lending they need.
