Lewis Golden LLP is a thriving nine partner independent firm of Chartered Accountants and tax advisers. The firm was founded over 70 years ago and has always been based in Queen Anne Street, Marylebone.
The Role
We are looking to recruit one further ACA trainee to join our Audit and Accounts team, based in London W1. The role is a full-time fixed term 3 year contract which includes a full study package to enable you to reach ACA qualification at the end of your contract. Your study will be linked to a L7 apprenticeship and you will be required to meet the apprenticeship standard as well as achieve first-time passes in your professional ICAEW exams.
Benefits and Working Hours
Your working week will be Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. Currently we offer flexible working with core hours of 10.30am to 4.30pm (3.30pm on Friday's), to promote well being and enable you, bearing in mind commercial needs, to start early or finish late. Our standard office hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm and we expect you to be office based at least 60% of the week.
You will be entitled to 22 days annual leave together with all bank holidays. Should a course clash with a bank holiday, you will be entitled to a day of time off in lieu. The office closes over the Christmas break and you will be asked to save 3 or 4 days holiday to cover the closure from Christmas Eve to the New Year.
You will qualify and be auto-enrolled in our NEST pension scheme, currently the firm pay a contribution of 6% of your qualifying earnings, and you must pay 2% of your qualifying earnings. If you elect to opt out, we are flexible and the same contribution is available to be paid into your personal pension scheme.

You will be predominantly office based although you may need to attend client premises both in London and further afield on occasion.
Training and Development
Alongside your employment contract, you will be issued an ICAEW training contract which confirms what we will do for you (pay for your tuition and exams, give you paid time off work for courses and provide appropriate work experience) and what you will do for us (dedicate yourself to your studies and to your office work).
We deliver this through a comprehensive programme that combines ACA study at Kaplan, professional and soft skills courses with HAT and our in-house programme of case studies, forums, mentoring, on-the-job training, appraisals and review.
You study for exams, complete professional development 'ladders', perform client work and study ethics. You will work to a wide range of managers during your training contract and gain experience in apps including Quickbooks Online, Sage, Xero, Caseware and Alphatax. You will be involved in a range of assignments including management accounts, cash flow forecasting, auditing, preparation of statutory financial statements and VAT with potential secondment opportunities.
Within the ACA programme you would gain a breath of experience working across our varied client base which, once you have qualified, means you can make an informed decision about where you would like to specialise. Throughout the programme we also encourage you to have conversations with us about your career pathway.

We offer a full study package which totals 28 weeks over the three-year standard training contract. In addition, each student has 22 days paid annual leave per annum plus bank holidays and time off in lieu if a study day coincides with a bank holiday
