Clarion Housing Group is looking for ambitious, passionate and dedicated graduates to embark on a journey with our growing Graduate Programme within the Housing Department.
The Role
You will take part in a two-year development
programme providing four rotations across our teams covering all areas
of housing management. You’ll be working with a range of teams from
frontline housing management and estate services, to letting homes and
performance management. The rotations will give you hands-on experience
of working in social housing and helping to tackle the housing crisis.
You will also be tasked with project work and participating in mini work placements across the housing and customer services departments so you can understand and learn about how best to support residents. Further to this you will be invited to shadow senior staff members and network with a wide range of colleagues across the business.
The programme is designed to provide you with the relevant training and work experience to allow you to grow into a competent and professional member of the Clarion Housing team, with a view to helping you become a future leader. To complement the practical experience you will gain, we will also pay for you to complete the Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4 qualification.
Upon successfully demonstrating a fully competent performance you will have the opportunity to apply for roles in Clarion Housing. We will provide support to help you grow and develop thoughout your time at Clarion.
Responsibilities
You’ll take part in four six-month rotations
across a range of teams. The rotations will be slightly different
depending on location. In North London you will mplete rotations in
Neighbourhood Management (covering frontline housing support), Tenancy
Specialists (covering management of anti-social behaviour), Estate
Services (covering caretaking and grounds maintenance of our estates and
community areas) and Regional Operations (covering performance
management and service improvement). In Norwich you will complete
rotations in Neighbourhood Management (including some estate services
management), Tenancy Specialists, Available Homes (covering our
allocation and letting of empty properties) and Regional Operations.
You will have a line manager for each rotation and the aim will be to grow your knowledge and ensure you can practically apply it by the end of each rotation. In addition to line management, you will have senior support from your Head of Operations and a mentor (who will be a Director in Clarion). You will be asked present to the regional leadership team at the end of each rotation to show what you have learnt.
A typical week will include a team briefing, completing a set of tasks that require liaising with residents and staff to resolve problems and issues, keeping excellent records on the systems, dropping into a meeting about a management issue, meeting with senior staff about a sensitive case, supporting your managers to meet with stakeholders, carrying out some research to find a suitable solution to a resident or estate problem, completing and estate inspection, overseeing a project that will improve a local area used by residents, participating in a contract management meeting and carrying out online and face to face learning.
