    Interview process

The initial telephone interview was with YummyJobs' team members, who would then forward on a selection of Candidates to the Walt Disney company. The phone call was quite relaxed and lasted about 30 minutes, where I was asked if I'd visited the parks before, why I wanted the role and how well I thought I'd adapt to living in Florida. I received an e-mail inviting me to attend a Face to face interview in Liverpool, upon arrival there was a presentation that details the Program more and information about how the interview would go.The interview was tough but fun, as we were paired up with another and so we had to make sure that you shined. I was lucky in that my partner was really nice and we worked well together. We were asked again why we wanted to work at Disney World, to give an example of when we had to deal with a difficult customer, and they would give us an example of a situation and we explained how we would deal with it. Then they asked question about what we are passionate about and how we would apply it to our roles.

    Most difficult question

The most difficult question was the role-play one, as I had to think on my feet. However, after relaxing and thinking for a second before answering, I was able to give a good answer, that my interviewer seemed happy with.

    Interview tips

Be enthusiastic but also demonstrate a smart head and common sense. The Disney Company has extremely high expectations of their staff, and so as a candidate you need to understand the level to which you must perform. Most importantly, demonstrate that you love the company and would really love the role. Enjoy it!

    Experiences at the assessment centre

We were taken into a room in the Liverpool University, where we were given a Presentation about the Job/Program, and then we were all allocated a time to return for our interviews. When it was our time we went into another corridor where our papers were checked and were introduced to the person we were paired with for the interview. This helped greatly to get us at least comfortable with our pair before the interview!

    Interview process

The process started with filling in an online application which had standard personal, academic and previous emoployment questions. It took about 25 minutes to fill in the form as at the time I only had my education and personal information to fill in.

Once I got through to the face to face interview, I was given a call to see what day and time the interview was for. The interview was at the Hammersmith office just next to the location. The person that came to interview me was the person that became my manager. He began with asking me what I know about the company and then gave me a brief overview. He asked my compentency questions around my team working skills, group project at university and why did I apply for that particular role.
He then asked me about my technical skills and my interest in learning new skills. The interview lasted for 45 minutes and at the end he left it open for me to ask any questions.

We then started talking about cricket as we both seemed to have an interest and it became a somewhat informal chat.

    Most difficult question

Have you had an ocassion where you were leading a team but people won't listen to you? How did you manage that situation?

    Interview tips

Make sure you ask a lot of questions, even if you sound dumb like what are the office timiings, where will I sit etc. Just ask as many questions as you can, it makes you look thirsty and eager for the role and leaves a good impression. Also make sure you conduct a research on the company like Disney, we always see Disney as cartoons and teddy bears but there is a lot more to it, don't go by the perceptions.

    Experiences at the assessment centre

I got the offer straight away, the process was online application, then first round interview, then job offer.
