    Interview process

Telephone interview is a competency based interview which lasts about 40 min and STARR format answers are expected. The interview is with the HR and it has a feeling of a speaking to a secretary. No emotions just writing down what you are saying so if you are excited to work for the company you have to say it as it will not be deducted from your tone.

First part of the interview is about your excitement towards Atos "Why Atos"
In this question you are expected to show that yo have prepared for the interview and that you know a lot about the company, and also very important how does Atos is different from other companies.

Second question is "Why you?" So what makes you the good candidate for Atos, how you gonna fit within this company. Again show your research reflect the overall values / culture of the organisation and how you have them too.

Third question is "What do you like about the graduate scheme you have chosen?" Here show that you know how the scheme looks like what does it offer and that you know a lot about the position you are going for.

Next part is about the team working. The question is "Tell me about the time when you worked in a team and one of the members was not cooperating as much as team would like him to". STARR format here is very important specially at the end to show WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED? and reflection on WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE NEXT TIME IF YOU HAD THE SAME SITUATION? Show your team working skills here.

Fourth part is about diversity. "Tell me about the time when you changed the way you work" STARR format showing your ability to adapt easily to changing environment or situation. What you have learned and what would you change are very important. If you will not say it yourself, interviewer will ask you these questions anyway. But wouldn't it be good to impress?

Other parts of the interview are about you, if you have been away for longer than 6months in last 5years, do you need visa to work, is any location ok for you to work and things like that.

    Most difficult question

"Tell me about the time when you changed the way you work"

    Interview tips

Prepare good for the interview. You are expected to be prepared for the telephone interview just like it would be a one to one. Remember your STARR format especially Results, Reflection part!

My phone interview was with an outsourced company based overseas. They were very friendly and asked basic competency questions, details about me, my motivations..etc. They heavily emphasised the use of the STAR technique for answering their questions. It was nothing technical.
    Just be friendly and confident.

    Most difficult question

To be honest they were all run of the mill, so it was pretty easy to prepare for. I guess the hardest for me personally (due to only having one example) was to describe a time when I have worked in a team with a member not pulling their weight, how I approached this situation, and what was the outcome?

    Interview tips

Be prepared, read up about the company.
Make sure you have commercial awareness of the industry.
Get your personal brand on point - make out that your values match those of the company.
    And be nice!

There was an individual presentation based on some literature you are given for 45 mins beforehand. You prepare your presentation using power point, and present only to one interviewer. There was also a group task where you are watched by three assessors. In the group task you are given a project and have to devise a plan for that project within around 20 minutes. Then finally there were speed dating styled one on one interviews with competency and technical questions.

Applied online, did the tests, phone interview, then waited like 5 months for further info as they kept pushing back their deadline date with no mention to the fact, going months without updates. Really do not recommend if you like being in any way valued, as opposed to being just another resource.

    Most difficult question

Dealing with an uncooperative/struggling person - the struggling person part was a follow up and quite interesting as it's not an angle i'd come across for that question

    Interview tips

Know about all the different services and competitors, it shows good awareness, and the interviewers were impressed by my ability to talk somewhat in depth about the field.

otherwise don't be afraid to take the lead in the group exercise, but make sure not to overpower others, as they will notice this. Rather try to make sure peoples voices are heard - facilitate rather than dictate

Standard assessment centre stuff, group exercise with about 5/6 others where you had to plan a project, and presentation followed by competency based interview with some forays into technical project management stuff - pretty much as you'd expect.

My initial interview was with a recruitment agency that works on behalf of Atos and it lasted around 30ish minutes. The interviewer was really friendly which helped my nerves. The questions were generic competency questions as I had prepared well with STAR model it let little room for the interviewer to ask me questions.
Also, there were questions regarding my interest in IT and why I applied for this company in particular, so make sure you are aware of competitors and what they are doing better this gives you room to show that you have done your research.

    Most difficult question

I don't remember any difficult questions

    Interview tips

It is vital to prepare well and definitely follow STAR model. As far as your interests in the company go don't be generic be more specific about what you like about the company- it could be the way one department works to charity work.

For Atos it is important to see that you match their culture and drive to succeed

    Experiences at the assessment centre

We had two interviews, a group exercise and a presentation. The day started with group exercise in a group of 6 ( all the people that attended A/C), all three assessors were present. After this, we had interviews which are split between two interviewers one asks 2 competency questions and the other asks you more about your interests and a talk through your CV.
