Our unrivalled two-year European Graduate Leadership Programme is designed to unearth the next generation of sales and marketing business leaders and executives.
Here, you will learn all about our business by assuming ‘real’ roles. You will be given actual responsibilities underpinned by first-class product, presentation and negotiation training sessions. We actively encourage you to travel to events and European conference, the hallmark of our programme. Typical entry positions and real role responsibilities include Field Marketing Executives, Job Site Solutions and Marketing Assistants through the UK and the rest of Europe.

What are the entry requirements?
You will be proficient in English and, ideally, speak a second language. Initial roles mean you could work from a variety of locations within the UK, or Europe.
We are looking for graduates with 2:2 degrees in business, marketing or engineering. We also encourage graduates with other degrees and relevant proven commercial work experience to apply.
You must have the legal right to work in Europe and have a full, clean – and eligible – driving licence.
How does the recruitment process work?
First, you will need to send us a copy of your CV with a covering letter explaining why you would like to join us.
If we’re impressed, we’ll then interview successful candidates, usually by Skype, and again during a one-and-a-half day assessment centre.
If you have experience or knowledge of power tools and our industry as a whole, great! However, please don’t be put off if you don’t. We strongly encourage practically-minded individuals to apply, particularly those who want to develop sales and marketing skills using our hands-on programme.

I graduated from Newcastle University in 2013 with a degree in Business Management and Marketing and completed my P.G.C.E the following year. Another year went by figuring out that primary school teaching was not for me, and I found the change that I was looking for with the TTI Graduate Programme!
I am now working with the consumer power tool brand Ryobi, as a Field Marketing Executive in the UK. TTI has invested in my development a great deal; so far I have received numerous product training days, a set of sales skills training courses and presentation skills training. Ryobi is a great brand that I am committed to and feel passionate about when talking to customers. The highlight of my time with TTI so far was working as a key presenter at the 2015 Ryobi conference in Paris. I was trusted to deliver thirty two presentations to hundreds of members of the press and key accounts, within three months of joining the company!

After graduating from University in 2012 with a degree in Business Management, I spent two years in various sales roles before joining the Graduate Programme at TTi. I am now working with the Industrial powertool brand Milwaukee as a Field Marketing Executive in the UK. The role puts a real emphasis on my development within the industry; so far it has taken me all over the UK in a variety of capacities in order to learn about different aspects of the business. One highlight has been working on the ‘Milwaukee Big Red Truck Tour’ where I spent time as part of the Milwaukee truck team who are all experts on the product range, getting a chance to be hands on with the tools, give product demonstrations and convert end users to the Milwaukee brand!
I joined the Graduate Programme at TTi in October 2014 alongside five other graduates, the team spirit we share as a group of graduates is echoed throughout every area of the business. Working with likeminded and determined team members is a great motivator and working closely together on events is great fun. The company has a huge ambition and for me the best thing is that the company rewards my ambition to succeed by constantly throwing new challenges my way. I graduated from Brunel University in 2014 with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science. I was informed of the TTI Graduate Programme via a family friend and was keen to find out more. The opportunity to continue my development and to gain some key skills, as well as valuable experience to start a career, was what interested me. After an initial search for the company, I realised the forward thinking environment was something I wanted the chance to be a part of.
I currently work as a National Account Planning Executive for the consumer power tool brand Ryobi. As part of my role I work with the three largest retailers in the UK, and feel the training I have received up to this point has given me the confidence to feel I am a key member of the team. I’m Charlotte, I’m 24 & I am currently a Marketing Assistant for Ryobi in the European Brand Team. I was recruited via the European Graduate Leadership Programme in October 2014 & starting at TTI was the best decision I ever made. I studied Geography BA (Hons) at Durham University & later received my Masters in Spanish-English Translation from the University of Malaga, where I grew up.
I've always wanted a job in marketing that would allow me to travel & use my languages but I never thought I would have found all this working in power & garden tools!
Since joining the EMEA Brand Team I have been involved in all aspects of marketing, from writing press releases and catalogues, doing photo/video shoots, organising conferences, to social media & so much more. I have been able to visit many European cities on business and every day I work with people from all over the world AND get to use my Spanish.
I feel proud to work for a global company like TTI. I have been able to work closely with my peers developing my skills and knowledge day by day. What subject degree do I need?
Ideally you will have a degree in business, marketing or engineering however we do consider applicants with any degree subject.
What grade degree do I need?
If your degree is from a UK university then you will need a 2:2 or above. If your degree is from elsewhere, then it will be the local equivalent.
What level of degree do I need?
We will consider applicants with either a Bachelors or a Masters degree. We will also consider those who have a technical apprenticeship with skill enhancement in technique and business administration.
How does the recruitment process work?
We look for you to apply with a CV and covering letter explaining why you think you are suited to the role. We will be inviting successful candidates to a telephone interview and this will be followed by a one and a half day Assessment Centre, where final decisions will be made
I am not that interested in power tools or the industry – why should I apply?
If you have an interest in power tools and our industry as a whole, that is great, but we also strongly encourage those who are practically-minded and want to develop sales and marketing skills through a hands-on programme to apply. We are looking to build a diverse group of graduates and future business leaders who have strong communication and relationship building skills. We are looking for graduates who want to grasp opportunity and will enjoy possible European travel and exposure. We can offer a great deal of challenge and opportunity to all who apply.
Will you reimburse any expenses I occur from attending the assessment centre?
Yes, we will reimburse all expenses genuinely incurred from your attendance at the assessment centre. If you have any expenses which are of a large value it is best to check with us first to ensure they will be covered.
Will I receive feedback if my application is unsuccessful?
If you complete a telephone interview or attend one of our assessment centres then we will provide you with detailed feedback which we hope you will find useful. Unfortunately due to the high number of applications we receive we are unable to provide individual feedback if your application is not successful at the first stage.
Where will I be based?
You will primarily be based in the country for which you are applying, with occasional travel for work purposes. If you wish to work in another country please ensure this is specified on your application form. For any country you wish to work in you will need to be eligible to work there, able to speak the local language fluently and willing to move there permanently. Where about in the country you are based will depend on business needs. Where possible we try to accommodate graduates close to their home or preferred location, if a significant move is required then we will consider a relocation allowance for you. Within the country you will be home-based but spend a significant proportion of your time travelling to customers. The company will assist you in the set-up of a home-office.
What level of travel is involved?
At the start of your career you will travel to Germany and the UK for training sessions. You will also attend our brand events which take part in different countries 2-3 times per year. As your career progresses the amount of travel you do will depend on your particular role. We will always aim to give you as much notice as possible when we require you to travel.
Do all graduates spend the first part of their career driving a van?
All graduates who are taken on for our Field Marketing Executive roles are required to spend approximately the first 12-18 months learning our business by undertaking this role which requires you to visit customers, clients and sites in one of our branded vans. We think this is the best way for you to develop the core skills you’ll need to progress your career. Obviously there are other aspects to the job as well such as attending events. Occasionally we do use our assessment centres to help us source talent for other positions as well, but you should be prepared to start your career with TTI in the Field Marketing Executive role.
What type of company vehicle will I be given?
This varies depending on which company you are based in but could be something like a Ford Transit or Ranger.
What training will I receive on the Graduate Leadership Programme?
Soon after joining the Graduate Leadership Programme you will attend one of our training centres where you will be given an in-depth knowledge of our products, so whatever level of prior awareness you have, you will soon start to become an expert with our power tools. Throughout the programme there are then specific training days to improve the skills you will need in your role such as sales skills and presentation skills. There will also be other opportunities depending on which department or job role you progress into.
