Alex graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in International Hospitality Management
I joined the Momentum Programme having done a work placement with Baxterstorey in my second year at Oxford Brookes. I’d already seen first-hand the focus the business has upon food and people development. I saw the programme offered me a fantastic opportunity to build upon what I’d learnt at university and apply it in the workplace.
The first half of the programme follows a structure to give you a grounding of skills, but the second half really allows you to focus on where you want to take the next steps of your career. One thing I loved, and continue to in my current role, was working with people who share my passion for serving great food every day. A few highlights of my programme were project managing the launch of a new flagship location, working in fine dining kitchen and, surprisingly, a HR training session.

Training & Profiles
We recognise the importance of nurturing fresh, young talent and that the future growth of our business is highly dependent on the training, education and job opportunities we can offer to young people now.
You will spend time working within one of our client sites with the Operations teams. With a blend of on the job training and classroom learning you will gain experience and responsibility very quickly.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
• Experience different job roles within a structured programme before settling into a specific area that suits you
• Gain an in-depth knowledge of the foodservice and hospitality industry for business and industry clients, such as Aston Martin, ASOS and Network Rail
