Dolly Parton was wrong when she sang “working 9 to 5, what a way to make a living”.

Description:

Best bit about the scheme:
People are at the heart of this Company and you quickly become embedded into the Stagecoach family. You are welcomed, supported and encouraged throughout the scheme and thereafter in your career to achieve your ambitions.

Toughest bit about the scheme:
Dolly Parton was wrong when she sang “working 9 to 5, what a way to make a living”. Our business never sleeps with buses running 24/7. From managing the morning run out at 4am, to recruiting new drivers for our business during the afternoon, to cleaning buses at 11pm, you need to be prepared to experience work at all times of the day.

Next career move:
Having managed at 3 depots across the country, I am ready to step up to the position of Operations Director and am looking forward to this next challenge.

Training & profiles

Of course we won’t throw you in at the deep end without full support... a buddy, a mentor, great managers, internal training, external courses… you can count on us to give you everything you’ll need. And yes, if you want to (and don’t already know how), we’ll teach you how to drive a bus.

Throughout the programme you’ll have exposure to our senior leaders including at breakfast meetings, dinners, lunch-and-learn sessions, site visits and meetings.

And at the end of the programme you can expect to be taking on a management role in an area of our business. Interestingly, five of our current MDs and 36 of our functional directors are former graduates... and you could well be adding to this amazing tally!

Application procedure

You'll also need a 2:2 degree or above in any discipline by September 2020, a full UK/EU driving licence by September 2020 (so if you haven't got one there's still time!), to be legally entitled to work full-time in the UK and be ready to join one of our operating business units.
