Description:

I joined the TTI Graduate Leadership Programme in December 2021 and have since been working with the industry leading professional tool brand Milwaukee. In my first year as a Field Marketing Executive (FME), I developed a multitude of skills through practical on the job training as well as in-depth external courses, including presentation, negotiation, and sales training days.

This role provided many opportunities for me across the UK, ranging from managing my own accounts across the North of England, to attending large national industry events to represent the brand.

After 12 months as an FME, I progressed to a leadership role as the FME Supervisor for the North UK team. This new role has presented me with many learning opportunities, and I enjoyed the greater responsibilities. I both managed and trained the team, as well as assisting National Account Managers in multiple channels in a variety of capacities.

In February 2024, I received another promotion to a National Account Executive within the Milwaukee team.

“Working for such an innovative and rapidly growing brand gives me a great sense of satisfaction. I am proud to work with a likeminded and passionate team and look forward to my future with TTI”.

FAQs

What degree do I need?
A degree in business, sales, marketing or engineering is highly relevant. However, we invite applications from graduates with any degree subject with a 2:2 or above.

I do not have much knowledge of the industry - should I still apply?

If you have knowledge of our industry and what we do, that's great, but we also strongly encourage those who are practically minded with a can-do attitude and want to develop sales and marketing skills to apply. We are looking to build a diverse group of graduates with a range of transferable skills as future business leaders.

What skills are you looking for?
You will need to be a confident communicator, who has a positive, can-do attitude and a drive to achieve results. You will be representing our brands across different channels and as such, building relationships with our customers, suppliers and trade channels, generating sales and demonstrating our products. You will need to have an organised approach to structuring your day and your appointments. You will work independently but will be very much part of a wider graduate team. You will take a pride in your work and our brand.

Will I receive feedback if my application is unsuccessful?
If you attend one of our assessment centres, then if requested, we will provide you with feedback which we hope you will find useful. Unfortunately, due to the high number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback if your application is unsuccessful at the first stages.

Where will I be based?
Our entry-level graduate Field Marketing Executive roles are territory-based, and we will ask you to apply for a specific location(s). You will be working from home and expected to travel within your region for which a branded company van and fuel card will be provided.

Which division within Milwaukee may I be assigned as part of the FME role?
Based upon your location and availability within the division, you can be assigned to any of Milwaukee’s product divisions.

Do all graduates spend the first part of their career as an FME?
All graduates who join us as Milwaukee Field Marketing Executives will spend a minimum of 12 months learning our business by undertaking this pivotal role which requires you to visit customers, clients and sites in one of our branded vans. We believe that this is the best way for you to develop the core skills you’ll need to progress your career and to really get under the skin of the Milwaukee brand.

When and how will I be promoted?
Promotion is based on your own success and results after a minimum of 12 months in the role. We promote from within and promotion will depend on results, but also business opportunity. Positions are advertised internally, providing opportunities for all employees to apply.

Recent graduates have moved into a variety of roles such as sales and national account management, supervisory roles, marketing positions and into our Ryobi consumer team.

What training will I receive on the Graduate Leadership Programme?
Soon after joining the Graduate Leadership Programme, you will attend one of our training centres (usually in Germany) where you will be given an in-depth knowledge of our products. Whatever level of prior awareness you have, you will soon start to become an expert with our products. This hands on product knowledge will be combined with eLearning also.

Throughout the programme there are specific training days to improve the skills you will need in your role and for your wider career development, such as sales skills, negotiation skills and presentation skills. Throughout your training you will receive support and guidance from your supervisor and a wide graduate team.
