This means you’ll move from one business area to another, working with different teams – often across different cities – to experience all aspects of our work. This part is personal: it’s about you. This learning is designed to complement on-the-job learning and will evolve with you as you progress through the scheme. It will include insights discovery, resilience, communicating with impact and personal brand.

I’m not sure which graduate scheme my degree is suitable for

The academic requirements are the same for all schemes, so it's better to focus on where your passions and interests lie. As far as selection criteria are concerned, we'll assess your strengths, drive and motivation in relation to the specific scheme you apply for.

What are the minimum eligibility requirements to apply?

For our graduate schemes, you must have, or be on track to achieve, a 2:2 or above from any university. We don't, however, have any requirement for UCAS points.

How do I prove that I am on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 degree?

We will verify this through asking for your previous transcripts to demonstrate you have to date achieved at least a 2.2 and are on track to achieve this on completion of your degree.

Due to extenuating circumstances, I don’t meet the minimum eligibility requirements. Can I still apply?

It’s important that we have a consistent recruitment approach to ensure the process is as fair and effective as possible. We do, however, assess each case individually. So, if extenuating circumstances prevent you from meeting the minimum requirements, please email the team at lloydsbankinggrouptalent@peoplescout.co.uk.

Typically, we would expect extenuating circumstances to be validated by an official letter from your university or a medical practitioner.

Can I apply for more than one scheme?

We’ll only accept one application per candidate, per year. However, if the scheme you apply for is full, and your skills and interests match other schemes within the same job family, we’ll get in touch to talk about these opportunities.

Will I be considered for an alternate scheme if the one I originally applied for has been filled?

We may consider you for similar schemes where we are still recruiting. And if this is the case, we will be in touch to discuss this with you.

I require sponsorship to work within the UK. Is this something Lloyd’s Banking Group can provide?

Lloyds Banking Group offers sponsorship within particular skills areas. For Graduate schemes, we’re open to receiving applications for candidates wishing to apply for Engineering or Data Science schemes. We’re not able to offer sponsorship for our other schemes.

I have an international qualification; how will my eligibility be assessed?

You’ll need to provide the full details of your qualification with your application, which we’ll then verify using NARIC, a tool that assesses the conversion of international qualifications to their UK recognised equivalent. If your international qualification does not meet the minimum UK recognised equivalent required to apply for the scheme, we will be unable to proceed with your application.

Application Process

When is the deadline for applications?

While we have planned closing dates, we may close a scheme early if we receive a sufficient number of high-quality applications. So, we recommend you submit your application promptly. You must submit your Online Assessments within the timescales provided.

I currently work for Lloyds banking group, can I apply for the graduate scheme?

Internal applicants, who have achieved or are on track to achieve a 2:2 degree or above will be assessed in the same way as all external applicants. When applying for one of the graduate schemes please ensure you apply via the internal job board and use an external email address in your application. You'll be required to use your personal device to access and complete the online assessments.

Why does the application form include questions about diversity?

The point of this is to ensure we are providing equal opportunities. It’s not compulsory to answer these questions but all information is recorded anonymously and the data collected helps us ensure we offer a fair and transparent application process.

I have requested a new password but haven't received anything yet, and can't sign into my candidate portal.

Do I need to provide a transcript of my degree?

We will need to see your original certificate or official university transcript once you have successfully completed your degree. If your transcripts are in a foreign language, they will need to be officially translated into English.

What is the Disability Confident Scheme?

If you have a disability, long-term health or neurodiverse condition you are eligible to apply via our Disability Confident Scheme (DCS). It allows eligible candidates, who meet the minimum application criteria, to progress through the assessment stages as long as they meet or exceed 90% of the standard progression benchmark for the scheme applied for.

What do we mean by disability?

The Equality Act 2010 describes people with disabilities, long term health or neuro-diverse conditions as someone who has a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and adverse long-term effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

If I have a disability, do I have to tick the Disability Confident Scheme box?

Not at all. You'll still be entitled to reasonable adjustments throughout the assessment process. Ultimately, we just want to give you the best chance to demonstrate your skills and capabilities and an equal opportunity of success.

What happens after I have submitted my application?

Once we've received your application, we'll begin the assessment process. You can find out more about the various stages of that on our How to Apply page. We also recommend spending some time in our Preparation Hub, which provides further insight into our assessments.

Where are graduate schemes based?

We want you to gain valuable insights into the diversity of our business. To do this, some of our graduate schemes are rotational, meaning you’ll be based in different UK locations, while other schemes are based in a specific location for the duration of the scheme. Therefore, you'll need to commit to the location requirements for whichever scheme you apply for. For rotational schemes you will need to be flexible to change location between placements. What happens at the end of the graduate scheme?

Our schemes are designed to embrace your passions and develop your skills and interests so you can enjoy a successful career with Lloyds Banking Group.

Throughout the scheme you’ll receive the development and support you need to build a strong foundation, and be encouraged to consider which area you feel your strengths and potential can be fully realised. Then, during your final placement, we’ll support you to secure a role that will allow you to put all that learning to good use.

Assessment Process

How do you assess my skills, and whether I'm right for the scheme?

We use a strengths-based assessment process to find the best people, with the right values, talent and drive, to join our business. Find out everything you need to know about how we assess candidates and how you can prepare on our Gradcracker Hub.

Can I retake the online tests if I fail first time?

Unfortunately, to be fair and consistent to all candidates and what we are assessing you against, you'll not be able to sit the tests again.

I may need help with certain parts of the process. Who can I contact about this?

We recognise that everyone is different and we want to ensure that every candidate feels comfortable and is given the opportunity to perform at their best. If you're a person with a disability, or if you have a condition that you believe may affect your performance during the selection process, we'd be happy to make adjustments or accommodations for you to enable you to complete the process on an equal basis.

In addition, the Preparation Hub will enable you to gain an understanding of what to expect from the selection process, the potential impact of any disability and an understanding of what adjustments, if any, you feel would be needed. I missed the deadline for the testing and/or video interview. Can I have an extension?

We deal with these requests on a case-by-case basis. Please email us with the full details of your situation, at lloydsbankinggrouptalent@peoplescout.co.uk.

Can I complete the assessments whilst I am abroad?

Yes. All the assessments prior to the Assessment Day can be completed online at a time and place that suits you – whether that’s early in the morning or late into the night. We recommend you pick somewhere quiet though, and it’s a good idea to turn off your mobile phone, too.

Can I have feedback on my tests or interview?

While we can’t provide individual results, you will receive an Insights report after completing the Online Assessment. This will help you understand more about your strengths and areas of development. It does not, however, indicate whether you've made it to the next stage.

What does the assessment day involve?

Everyone has their own unique combination of strengths and areas for development, so we want to see the ‘real you.’ We’re not expecting perfect performances, so the best way to prepare is by thinking about your natural strengths – the things you enjoy doing and are good at.

When do the assessment days take place?

We'll advise you of the scheduled dates for your scheme nearer the time so that you can keep the date free.
