The right degree?

I am doing a Mechanical engineering masters degree and wondered if this is suitable for going into the energy sector?

Hey! I do mechanical engineering too and applying to roles within the energy sector - So it's fine to apply to these type of jobs with your degree as long as you are interested in this sector. Personally I think its very exciting and very topical and can make a big difference!
