Our two year Graduate Programmes are designed to ensure that you continue your professional development with the benefit of ongoing support from teams and business functions that you work within and our Talent and Capability Team.

Each Programme starts with a week Training Zone at our Head Office in Taunton, Somerset, where you will start your Induction and learn about the diversity of our business. You will also benefit from 40 days of managerial, safety, behavioural and professional training, divided into Training Zones every three months where yuo will also get the opportunity to network with the other graduates in the businessand visit some of our other operational facilities.

Whichever programme is right for you, you'll complete a variety of placements that will empower you to make a difference to live projects and become and expert in your field.

Graduate Management Trainee Scheme
If you join us on our Graduate Management Trainee Scheme, you'll benefit from rotational three month placements across the business in your first year. You'll be placed at different sites across the UK and within different functions to allow you the best opportunity to learn about our business of recycling, landfill and power generation. During your second year, your placements will be designed to take into account your preferences and placements with be longer in duration as you prepare for your career with us.

Functional Specialist Programme
If you join us on our Functional Specialist Programme, you will be placed in your area of expertise, whether that is in Engineering, Logistics, Environment or Business and Commercial. You will be fully immersed in your specialism and start your career working in an active role and learning from your more experienced colleagues across your profession as you go, developing your skills and knowledge further. You'll also have the opportunity to get involved in our educational initiatives, helping to increase awareness of our sector in schools and promoting STEM careers.

What We Look For
If you are applying for our Graduate Management Trainee Programme, you don't need a specific degree, we consider all. This is a Programme where you, your approach to situations, your aspirations and your personality will all be important. However, a passion for our industry and our business would be advantageous.

If you are applying for our Functional Specialist Programmes, we look fo ra relevant degree in that specific business area, whether it's in Engineering, Environment or Logistics for example. We also look at what project work or work experience that you may have undertaken during your studies. As you'll be an intgral part of our teams, your attitude, aspirations and personality will be important too.

Regardless of the programme that you're joining us on, we encourage everyone to take a keen interest in the industry and environment. We are active in supporting our local communities, as such we look for examples of extra curricular activities whereby you have looke dto make a difference and contribute.

Our Selection Process
We want to ensure that we bring the right people in to our business, after all, our people are our greatest resource. We also want to make sure that the Graduate Programme that you have chosen to apply to is also right for you, it's a two way decision. Therefore, following your online application, you may be invited to record and submit a video interview, be invited to an assessment and interview. We encourage open communication throughout the process, therefore, our Recruitment Team will support you along the way should you need it.
