What we do

Our business today requires talented people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Enterprise recruits many people, every year, from different walks of life and each one makes a vital contribution from day one.

Maintaining the infrastructure and providing essential services to the public requires very talented and committed people, each with their own unique abilities and perspective. Our growth from £100m turnover in 2000 to around £1.2bn in 2008 has created opportunities for people to grow and develop their skills and experience.

They are well rewarded for the contribution they make, both financially and in terms of the respect and friendship they get from colleagues and customers.

We have currently over 10,000 employees delivering essential services to the public sector and utility companies from 170 locations in the UK and Ireland. Our markets are large and opportunities for Enterprise are growing continually. We expect to continue to expand rapidly in the future and for many opportunities to be created.

A graduate working for Enterprise can expect a diverse, challenging working environment, interacting with professionals and adding value to projects from the start. We offer a supportive, tailored development programme, combining training with a real job. Our current senior team includes people who joined as graduates and we have a policy of developing our own employees for senior roles from within the business.

Case studies

  • Name: Carys Thomas
  • Role: Support Manager
  • Degree: Graduate Commercial

Description:

In the commercial team I am working on developments to ensure we remain the least cost provider of essential services. I have been involved fully with the team from my first day and I am able to work on projects independently as well as in teams.

One of the main benefits I gained from joining the Enterprise graduate scheme is the opportunity to build networks across the Group. In my role in the Commercial department it is crucial to have knowledge of each division and understand how they operate. My graduate colleagues are a great help.

I am enjoying the Graduate Challenge project, set each year by the HR Director. This year we are tasked with raising money for our nominated charities, which is rewarding, as well as being fun.
