The Company

We are AstraZeneca. More than 62,000 employees strong, we have a presence in over 100 countries across six continents. We represent a diverse gathering of cultures. Yet there is one element that connects us all: helping people live healthier lives.

Every day, we work together discovering, developing, manufacturing and marketing a powerful pipeline that addresses six major areas of healthcare: cancer, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, infection, neuroscience, and respiratory and inflammation. In 2009 alone, our worldwide sales totaled $32.8 billion. Each year, we invest an average of over $4 billion in R&D, where more than 11,000 people are focused on bringing medical solutions to millions.

Helping people live healthier lives. Embracing diverse perspectives. Working together to create a better future. These are the common bonds - the catalysts that inspire people to work here.

So come here. Arrive knowing there exists the potential to make a real impact. Be among those who continue to make us an innovation-driven company that stands firmly among the world's leaders in biopharmaceuticals.

Training & Profiles

What do we offer?

You'll gain in-depth exposure to a complex area of our business. The program consists of three placements over the first two years, including a period of at least three months overseas. A third year is spent consolidating your capabilities.

Each role carries genuine influence, not to mention real opportunities to develop your skills and work towards professional qualifications. The more you learn about how our business operates, the more responsibilities you'll be given, and the more you can show us your potential to be one of our leaders of the future.

How you'll develop

As a graduate in our program you'll benefit from broad professional training and work experience. You'll also be introduced to an extensive network of pharmaceutical professionals, and develop comprehensive understanding of the industry itself.

Every graduate is given a mentor from day one of the program - someone with extensive business experience. Mentors not only support you, they also challenge you to get the most out of your role.

Case Studies

Name: Kelly H, Wilmington, US
Role: Operations and IS Global Graduate Associate

"I think the first day of our induction week really demonstrated the commitment and expectations that AstraZeneca has for this program. In the conference room the 15 of us new graduates, originating from 6 different countries, were joined by the CEO, CPO and COO who welcomed us and explained their expectations for our development, exposure and leadership skills over the next 3 years. What a remarkable way to show how a global company is truly invested in fostering the leaders of the future. I don’t think any of us will forget their encouraging remarks, not to mention that they took time out of their day to speak with us. It speaks volumes about AstraZeneca’s investment in this program."
