The scheme offers a brilliant career opportunity in the reinsurance industry. The rotation makes the scheme diverse and the people at Swiss Re are great to work with. The training blocks in Zurich are hard work but great fun, socialising with 50 graduates from all locations. I really enjoy the travel prospects as audits are regularly performed in exotic places including the USA and India.

Training & Profiles

The graduates@swissre programme is a hands-on, steep-learning curve introduction to our world.

We mainly focus on technical training as our business is very specialised. During18 months, you will receive on-the-job training in your respective positions as well as attend a high number of training days specially designed for the programme.

If you’ve just earned your degree and have little or no work experience, we will recruit you for one of our core business functions where a line manager will be appointed to be responsible for you. As a graduate you will have your own home base at one of our regional offices in either the Americas, Asia or Europe.

We’re looking for successful graduates who distinguish themselves not just in terms of academic excellence, but in international experience, extra-curricular activities and (given the global nature of our business) language skills.

You must be able to analyse and think conceptually, deal efficiently with a number of complex challenges simultaneously, and deliver high quality solutions - even under pressure.

You must be able to demonstrate a broad range of competencies, take the initiative, and accept responsibility for your own decisions and actions.

You must be able to relate well to people from different cultures and backgrounds, and communicate well with them - sharing and passing on knowledge.
