FAQs

Can I apply if I don’t have a work permit?
No. You must have a valid work permit if you are not British citizen or an EEA citizen or a Swiss national to work within Highways England. It is your responsibility to provide evidence of the work permit in line with current Home Office guidelines. Unfortunately we are unable to employ anyone who doesn’t have the right to work in the UK or to sponsor work permits.

Will I need to do any tests during the application process?
If there are to be any tests or assessments exercises during the interview the Recruitment Team will let you know in advance. For many roles we use online tests that are specific to the vacancy. The tests are short and full instructions are provided for you on screen or by the assessor.

What happens if I miss the closing date?
Unfortunately we can’t accept any applications for a job after the closing date has passed.
