Company Company Profile

Who we are
We’re Dyson, a global technology enterprise. Since 1993 we’ve been finding new ways to solve real-world problems – from vacuum cleaners with revolutionary cyclone technology, to a hairdryer with intelligent heat control. Our global headquarters, home to our first RDD centre, is located in the Cotswolds where the Dyson story began. From San Francisco to Shanghai, we are now over 10,000 people strong, and with interests in artificial intelligence, machine learning, hair care, electric vehicles and much more, the next few years will be our biggest and busiest yet. With that comes the need for more people to help us reach our 2020 ambitions. But only the most ambitious need apply.

What to expect
There’s nothing conventional about working at Dyson. With mission-based working and exposure to senior leaders, you’ll quickly make an impact – you just have to work for it. Previous missions have seen our graduates opening the first Flagship Demo store in London, launching the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer in Hong Kong, and presenting to James Dyson himself just three weeks in. Some people may see Dyson as a daunting place to work. Those who thrive here just see endless opportunities.

What we expect from you
The opportunities at Dyson won’t be handed to you on a plate. Show us that you’re up for a challenge, hungry for success and determined to make a difference to Dyson’s future. We need problem solvers and quick thinkers who have insatiable curiosity with the ability to deliver results every time. You won’t just learn how things are done – you’ll find ways to make them better.

Case Studies

  • Name: Chloe Blunsdon
  • Role: Sales Leadership Graduate Programme

What's your background?
After graduating from the University of Birmingham in Business Management, I knew I wanted to pursue a career within a sales function. I completed a 1 year placement which opened my eyes to the operational side of sales. I’ve always known Dyson as an innovative company, slightly mysterious but ultimately superior.

Can you describe your day to day role?
I think many people at Dyson will agree that it’s hard to describe a typical day. Each day brings new challenges and situations to push my personal development. For example I could be liaising with one of our largest retailers from stock levels to upcoming promotions. I also work closely with our retail team in the field to ensure we are aligned with initiatives from head office to store. I have real responsibility, I have ownership of projects and I’m trusted to solve problems and deliver results.

What's been your defining moment since you joined Dyson?
One of my proudest moments so far has been taking ownership for head office communications with our retail team. With such busy schedules and fast paced jobs, we needed a solution to increase effective communication between the head office and retail teams. After weeks of research and understanding the pain points, we now have a process in place every Friday which informs the teams of key information needed for the following week.

What's next?
For now I really enjoy focusing on our Great Britain/ Ireland and Northern Europe market. I am excited to experience a new area of Sales, new product categories and new people. I’m learning every day and making a real difference. I’m ready to take on the next challenge and push myself further. Having these opportunities so early on in my career is inspiring and just a taster of what could be in store in the future.
