Educational Fundraising Graduate Trainee Scheme

Salary: circa 18K (London 20K)?

Location: Either: Imperial College London, Kings College, London, University of Bristol, University of Southampton, Loughborough University, University of Manchester, University of Leeds, The University of Nottingham or University of Oxford (Flexibility over location is preferred)

Description:
Are you a recent graduate or about to graduate? Do you have a demonstrable interest in fundraising, campaigning or events management? Are you passionate about education?

CASE Europe is looking for nine highly motivated graduates with a keen interest in fundraising, campaigning or events management and higher education to participate in the second year of a highly successful national scheme to develop the educational fundraisers of the future. Candidates will be fully immersed in the world of fundraising, project management and donor support within one of our partner universities. You will be a graduate (with a minimum 2:1) who is confident, creative, has highly effective communication and listening abilities and possess excellent organisational skills. You are able to adapt to a variety of situations, have the perseverance to pursue goals and solid team working skills. You must also be flexible to respond to the needs of a dynamic work environment and have excellent IT skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel in order to effectively progress through this scheme. Previous experience of fundraising activities is desirable but not essential.

This is a focused placement which will give you the opportunity to experience the full range of functions involved in higher education fundraising and development. You will learn the skills and knowledge to research potential prospects, cultivate and manage philanthropic relationships as well as implement solicitation strategies to secure support. You will also work with external organisations, potential donors and contribute to the host University’s strategy and direction. Candidates must be willing to work in one of the following cities: London, Bristol, Southampton, Loughborough, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham or Oxford and be available to attend a week long training programme at the CASE Annual Conference starting 29 August 2010 prior to their 50 week placement. There will also be a four week secondment to another university within commutable distance from your host University. This is a fixed term contract.
