TJX embraces community spirit, says graduateNews
International fashion retailer, TJX Europe, embraces community and cooperative spirit, according to a graduate on their graduate scheme.
TJX Europe, the company behind well-known brands TK Maxx and Home Sense, retains its community spirit and employees have strong support networks. According to Kotryna, a graduate on the company's Information Technology graduate programme, TJX Europe has built a supportive environment where graduates can thrive.
Kotryna studied Psychology at the University of Westminster and has been surprised by the working culture at TJX Europe.
"Everyone is super friendly and kind. Everyone takes the time to help you and make sure you're ok," she says.
"There is great community spirit and compassion for the wider community. Everyone jumps at the chance to get involved; it is truly a fun loving place with great people. It's a great place to learn and figure out what you're truly passionate about."
"Everyone here is empathetic to being new and super encouraging with whatever your passion may be."
The Psychology graduate joined the Information Technology European Graduate Programme and says she's been well supported on the programme, including her manager who wants to see her flourish as a person as well as an employee.
"The Graduate Scheme is very structured and there is clear progression throughout. You have a manager and a contact for the Graduate Scheme who both look after you and address any issues you're having," Kotryna says.
"My manager takes a genuine interest in developing me as an individual and giving me the opportunities to learn new skills."
The support has received has allowed Kotryna to take real responsibility in her role and even offer her expertise to other teams around the business.
"'m trusted to look after an entire category of equipment which is used by most of TJX Europe Associates. I have regular meetings with external vendors and it is my responsibility to ensure the level of service TJX Europe receives is maintained."
"I also have the opportunities to work on project teams assisting with my area of expertise."
