Details

Description

As a graduate at Petrofac, you’ll work with world-class experts on some of the most significant energy projects in the world. You’ll join us in our mission to design, build, manage and maintain infrastructure for diverse clients including some of the world’s leading energy companies. At every step of the way, you can look forward to friendly advice and guidance from your mentors and colleagues. Together we’ll enable clients to meet the world’s evolving energy needs.

What we offer you

You’ll receive structured training aligned to a professional body (such as IMechE), giving you credentials to last your whole career. Training is delivered in a variety of ways: within Petrofac, externally and on-the-job. It will include enrolment on an industry recognised competency programme that will see you develop key skills in drilling and well completion engineering.

You’ll also have the advantage of personal development programmes to build up your interpersonal and leadership skills. Crucially, you’ll make a real contribution from day one through hands-on work experience projects that broaden your professional experience and knowledge of Petrofac. We’ll match you with an expert as a mentor to provide day-to-day support.

Your role

In this varied and vital role, you’ll play an active part in the design, construction, intervention and decommissioning of diverse offshore oil and gas wells. Whether on a mobile offshore drilling unit or a one of our intervention vessels, you can expect to gain well site engineering experience ranging from operations support through to liaison and technical coordination of supplier services.

What’s more, you’ll develop professional skills and experience in well engineering planning to industry standards. This will involve working on a variety of project types including feasibility assessments, conceptual and detailed design of new wells, intervention and repair, and decommissioning.

You’ll select and recommend the right tech to deliver value for our clients. With typical construction budgets of £20-30million, innovations in design, processes and technology make a big difference to the bottom line and - crucially - to achieving NetZero emissions targets.

What you’ll bring

We’ll expect you to have or expect a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree spanning a selection of the following elements: mechanical, civil, chemical, electrics and electronics, instrumentation, software application, computer science, communications, management sciences. And of course, you’ll be keen to keep learning.

You should also demonstrate:

  • A high level of numeracy and IT skills
  • A real eye for detail
  • A collaborative approach to work
  • The ability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to travel offshore and internationally
