Unilever is one of the largest fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies in the world. We make some of the world’s most loved brands: Dove, Lynx, PG Tips, Ben & Jerrys, Sure, Magnum, Knorr and Hellmann’s, to name a few. Unilever takes care of the whole supply chain of its products, from development and sourcing right through to production, marketing and distribution. 168,000 people globally produce brands that are sold in 190 countries and used by two billion people daily.
Unilever has a clear purpose: to build a brighter future for our world. People are fundamental to making this happen, which is why HR is considered a core rather than a support function, and plays such an important role in shaping business strategy. Within HR you will help to create an environment where all of the people in our huge and varied culture can bring their range of skills and goals to best use: for a better future and for their own fulfilment.
Our people have the opportunity to make a big impact every day on a local level, across Europe and the globe. We have a proven tradition of developing our own purpose driven leaders and encourage innovative thinking.
What will I be doing?
Supporting the wellbeing and championing the success of the 168,000 people working for us worldwide. We need HR people who are insightful and inspired to develop colleagues and the capabilities required for our winning business. Wherever you’re based in the business, you will gain experience of driving culture change, managing employee relations, developing talented individuals and leaders, turning around the performance of teams and much more. It’s all about shaping our organisation from within.
What do we look for?
People skills are essential. The role of HR in Unilever as a core strategic business area means we look for people with an interest in business and the courage to offer creative insights and execute change. Individuals who are mindful and responsive to contexts and audiences, with the ability to build relationships – a talent in influencing and negotiation will go a long way. No specific degree subject is required.
We have a strong performance culture with challenging goals, future focussed feedback and drive for innovation and ambition in an inclusive informal environment. We will push you to achieve your potential and make a big business impact where you learn from the best. First-hand experience - it’s the fastest way to learn.
