Job Role Summary


Opportunity to become a qualified accountant working in a dynamic and fast paced specialist travel company. The role will support the Financial Reporting Manager in all aspects of month end and year end related tasks.


Key Responsibilities and Tasks


• Direct cost posting and balance sheet control
• Revenue recognition and reconciliation to selling system
• Management and control of intercompany reconciliations
• Supporting overseas finance teams
• Stock system maintenance, control and reporting
• Overseas subsidiary balance sheet review and control
• Month-end reporting, with focus on direct cost and balance sheet

TECHNICAL SKILLS, OR KNOWLEDGE


Essential
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of accounting principles such as double entry book keeping, accruals prepayments etc.


Desirable


• SAGE X3
• Advanced Excel


EXPERIENCE & TRACK RECORD


Desirable
• Experience working in a finance function
• Experience in travel and / or tour operations


QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS, OR ACCREDITATIONS


Essential
• Graduate in a Finance or Accounting discipline


Specific Tasks


• Reconcile and manage the IC balances
• Reconcile and manage the Inter-Site balances with winter subsidiaries
• Reconcile COS associated balance sheet accounts
• Processing of the UK based COS for both Summer & Winter programmes
• Reconcile arrangement fees in the P&L against forecast
• Recharge Winter subsidiaries in line with group policies (lease costs / staff etc.)
• Calculate and generate monthly arrangement fees for Winter subsidiaries
• Review subsidiary reconciliations of cash and banks
• Reconcile revenue on a monthly and YTD basis
• Ensure that necessary monthly inputs are processed in a timely manner for month end reporting
• Sports equipment system monitoring and control
• Tracking and reporting of consumables consumption
• Review and monitor accounting entries ensuring compliance with group accounting policies
• prepare monthly headcount reporting
• Input into monthly balance sheet reporting pack
• Continuous management of subsidiaries chart of accounts
• Support the group audit
• Support the Winter finance admins throughout the season
• Provide an internal audit function for overseas subsidiaries
• Provide tax info extracts to local advisors
