The Vacancy


Our Technical Operations team are seeking to recruit a database administrator (DBA) to join our fast paced innovative company.


Responsibilities


This role involves managing and supporting an IT infrastructure on an international level, this will include:


  1. Database management
  2. Database, hardware and network performance tuning
  3. Installation and administration of servers
  4. Management and configuration of switches, firewalls and routers
  5. Managing data centre infrastructure
  6. Application and infrastructure security testing
  7. End to end resolution on technical issues


You will be working closely with TPP Developers ensuring the SystmOne solution remains available and runs as fast as possible for our end users. You may also interact with clients both in the UK and internationally.

Requirements


  1. A 2:1 or higher in a computer related degree
  2. A passion for computing and new technologies & competent knowledge of general computing
  3. Be a natural problem solver
  4. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written, with the ability to liaise internally and externally with contacts at all levels
  5. The ability to work within strict deadlines and under pressure
  6. The ability to think broadly and have an aptitude to learn quickly


Desirable skills:


  1. Experience managing and performance tuning databases
  2. Network TCP/IP troubleshooting
  3. Using virtualisation technologies
  4. Hardware resolution (desktop/servers)
  5. IT security conscious


A second language is advantageous, but not essential.
