Job Summary
• A complete placement experience program completed over a year, gaining an overall insight into 4 key areas of our TJX Europe PD business. The role covers all areas of Product Development: Design, PD Buying, Garment Technology and Royalty & private labels.
• Key responsibilities include Trend forecasting, design, assisting PD buyers, gaining brand awareness through comp shopping and developing an understanding of garment construction via the garment technology area.
• Developing strong customer service and working relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Consistently shopping all levels of the market including our own for fashion/trend/colour direction/value. Delivering key trend and product information to the Senior Designer and the relevant buying team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comp shop reports demonstrating an understanding of relevance to our TK market.
• Assisting designers in design development for multi-products including artwork development.
• CAD design.
• Trend development and key item analysis appropriate for the TJX Europe customer.
• Maintaining trend information, retail information, colour and resource library.
• General admin support for the design department.

• Support their PD buyer by evaluating the market, visiting stores and shadowing closeout buyers on deals.
• Attend local trade fairs.
• Utilize all key weekly reports available to gain an understanding into the business and learn how to make commercial recommendations to drive sales & profitability.
• Attend departmental walkthroughs in store.
• Develop strong working relationships with vendors and key internal partners.
• General admin support for PD buyers.

• Learn about the sample measuring process for pre-fit session preparation.
• Attend and assist fit sessions to develop knowledge of garment construction.
• General admin support for the technical department.
• Liaise with vendors, attend store visits with team to assess quality and product.

• Understand the process and the value of branding.
• Work with the royalty co-ordinator to learn about financial, logistics, communication with partners and the legal processes.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
• Strong PC skills including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop.
• Detail oriented.
• Good at developing communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
• Developed fashion sense for clothing design and construction.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Anticipates trends and their implications for the company.
• Good administration skills & an eye for detail.

To be eligible for this Placement Programme, you need to be currently completing a sandwich degree course, and are about to undergo a 12-month Industrial Placement as part of your third year at university OR attending a degree or equivalent course with placement opportunities in year two or three of the course.
