World-leading cyber security business Thales e-Security is seeking talented graduate engineers to join its ranks in securing some of the world’s most valuable information. Based in central Cambridge near the railway station, the business provides vital, trusted crypto security systems to companies all over the world and is responsible for protecting more than 80% of worldwide payment transactions. Cryptography is the backbone of online and mobile security and our encryption products are used by 19 out of the 20 of the world’s largest banks, high profile technology companies and a multitude of well-known companies. An Agile approach is used in product development with engineers working in small teams of six to eight. This allows them to interact, collaborate, respond to change; and they are empowered to make decisions on a daily basis. Thales e-Security also prides itself on encouraging and supporting innovation and creativity among its teams and the company is working in a number of exciting and emerging markets.


Assessment centre dates: 13 November – 14 December across multiple locations


Key responsibilities
• Design and develop tests to verify software implementations and validate system and product requirements
• Work within established processes and procedures to assure the functionality, integrity and robustness of all software deliverables and to be proactive in reporting progress, risks and issues
• Contribute to the writing of project documentation, provide input to and review of user documentation, technical application notes and training material
• Participate in code and design reviews.


Desired skills, qualifications and experience
You’ll be studying for a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or an adjacent subject. Desirable areas of study or interest would be Cryptography and/or Computer Security techniques.


Please note that GDP activities take place during the working week but may require the investment of some personal time for travel and follow up activities. You may have the opportunity to travel to Thales and non-Thales sites throughout the UK when participating in Graduate Development Programme activities.


In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
