Details

Description

MI5 and MI6 are part of the UK’s Intelligence Services. We safeguard Britain’s people, interests and businesses from threats including cyber-attacks, espionage, terrorism, and organised crime. When you join our Technology Graduate Development Programme, you’ll help deliver results at the heart of national security - and you’ll do it within a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages everyone to thrive.

Technology plays an increasingly frontline role in our work. It’s why we’re looking for graduates with a passion for STEM to join us at our central London location, where you’ll contribute to projects with real-world impact. You’ll be an innovator, ready to help shape the future of technology at MI5 and MI6. With your positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn, you’ll unlock your potential, work alongside technology experts, and kick-start your career.

Our Technology Graduate Development Programme is a structured two-year development programme, designed to give you the skills, knowledge and experience you’ll need to join our technology community. As part of the programme, you’ll need to select a specialism from the following:

  • Business Analysis
  • Project Support
  • Software Engineering
  • User Experience (UX) Design
  • Data Architecture
  • Data Science and Machine Learning
  • Data Engineering
  • Information and Cyber Security
  • Security Engineer

Whichever specialism you choose, you’ll enjoy an extensive combination of on-the-job and formal training. We’ll provide ongoing support and development opportunities to ensure you get the most out of the scheme, whether that’s taking on team-building activities such as challenges and presentations alongside your graduate cohort, or developing your personal and leadership skills. Plus, we’ll fund further external and accredited training and qualifications to bolster your future career.

The Technology Graduate Development Programme begins in Autumn 2023. To join, you’ll need a genuine passion for technology and have (or be expecting) a 2:2 by September 2023 in a STEM subject. You’ll also need to live in, or be able to commute to, central London. Successful candidates will receive a range of great benefits including a competitive salary, a generous training allowance that lasts the entire period of the scheme, and 25 days annual holiday.

Plus, you’ll be joining a welcoming, supportive workplace where your input is valued from day one. Ours is an inclusive culture, where you’ll be encouraged to share your unique insights and perspectives. We’re also proud to have a range of growing affinity groups within our organisation. These include ethnic minority, gender equality, mental health, neurodiversity, disability and LGBTQ+ networks (as well as a variety of sports, activity and social groups) – so you’ll always feel supported and surrounded by people with similar experiences and interests.

The recruitment and vetting process can take up to nine months to complete. So, now is the perfect time to apply if you’re currently in the final year of your studies. Should you have a disability or long-term health condition, and want to discuss any reasonable adjustments we can make, simply let us know when you submit your application.
