Who are we looking for?

As our ideal General Management Graduate you will need to be enthusiastic, well organised, and self-motivated.

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject with a minimum achievement of a 2:1 classification.

What might my 2 year programme entail?

The role of General Management will be reporting to the Area Director and form part of the team covering Tarmac Materials throughout the region. Your time spent as a General Management Graduate will include 4 rotations in the following departments:

Technical: to provide an understanding of Tarmac’s product range. Our Technical team are key to ensuring the goods delivered to our customers are of the correct quality. You will learn how we achieve these standards through laboratory mix trials, product sampling and providing technical advice on operations and customer sites.

Operations: you will learn about the different production facilities and processes in our business. You will have the opportunity to apply your earned knowledge to the manufacturing process and learn how we translate the products our customers require to a live production process.

Commercial: you will gain an understanding of how we market and sell our products. You will focus on customer service and be provided with the opportunity to develop relationships with our customers.

Logistics: you will gain an understanding of how customer orders are planned and delivered on time. This rotation will include interactions with our external haulage fleet and our management of H&S within this population.
