Who are we looking for?
• As our ideal Electrical Engineering Graduate you will need to be enthusiastic, well organised, and self-motivated.
• You will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject with a minimum achievement of a 2:1 classification.
What might my 2 year programme entail?
The role of Electrical Engineering Graduate will be reporting to the Maintenance Manager and form part of the team covering our Cement and Lime business throughout the UK.
An opportunity for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to build on their academic achievements with development that will provide both practical and formal training. You will gain knowledge, understanding and practical application of all safety policies, procedures and practices relevant to the role and be active in leading and driving safety standards and improvements. You will develop understanding of the maintenance department’s long, medium and short-term goals, to enable you to effectively contribute to achieving plant objectives. Learn how to use a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to carry out day-to-day fault finding and repair / maintenance of equipment, while being proactive in finding permanent solutions to engineering problems. You will be involved in Root Cause Failure Analysis to understand the associated costs and business impacts resulting from plant un-planned downtime. Understand the maintenance strategy of - Inspection, Planning, Scheduling and Execution of tasks, taking ownership and accountability for ensuring the work is completed safely and to the correct quality standards. You will play a key role in specific projects, based around improving plant reliability and achieving reductions in energy consumption by working in a collaborative style with key stakeholders to achieve common goals. Gain an understanding of the legislative requirements of the electrical team in ensuring plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with all safety and environmental standards.
This is a national role and will consist of four 6 month placements where you will be exposed to all the teams within the cement plant: production, maintenance, optimisation, quality and projects. Time will be spent at each of our plants: Tunstead, Buxton; Aberthaw, Cardiff and; Dunbar, Edinburgh.
