• Who are we looking for?
As our ideal Commercial placement student you will need to be enthusiastic, well organised, and self-motivated.
You will be an undergraduate student, following a path to a degree level qualification in a relevant subject with a predicted achievement of a 2:1 classification.
What might my 12 month programme entail?
This role will be reporting to the Area Commercial Manager and form part of the team covering Materials throughout the region.
You will develop a thorough understanding of all internal and external commercial ways of working within the region. As part of the team you will have the unique opportunity to understand our different products, marketplaces and customers. You will be exposed to our internal and external commercial practices whilst being afforded the time to develop detailed knowledge of all products and markets across all business areas. You will be making sound business decisions based on profit and the key business drivers.
A variety of commercial related tasks will be undertaken to provide a rounded understanding of the end to end sales process. Working with the commercial management and sales team you will undertake a number of projects through placements. You will gain experience of the construction sector, the market dynamics and the varying routes to market through internal and external customers.
