Supply Chain & Logistics
The world has recently entered a period of low stability and high unpredictability, creating new challenges for complex international supply chains like ours. This has led to a huge revolution in thought and practice, with supply chain planning, resilience and sustainability now at the forefront of many of the most exciting digital innovations. This complex ecosystem of new technologies and ideas, creates fantastic opportunities for talented graduates to learn fast, champion change and establish careers where they need to think differently every single day.
As a Supply Chain & Logistics graduate you have the ability to chose to work within our Industrial Operations team or Commercial team.
Industrial Operations (IO): Supply Chain & Logistics Graduate
Our Reimagine strategy is transforming every part of our business. We’re rethinking how we design and deliver the next generation of luxury, sustainable cars and everything that goes into them. In reinventing our end-to-end supply chain capability and performance, our pioneering people are using advanced digital tools to bring together a global network of more than 5,000 suppliers in the most connected way possible to achieve one thing: delivering awe-inspiring vehicles on time, flexibly, sustainably and competitively.
Completing four, six-month rotations, you could find yourself gaining key skills in sales & operations planning or execution, IO sustainability & circular economy, inbound freight, finished vehicle distribution, material fulfilment, supply chain analytics & digital, IO programmes, capacity planning, IO risk & resilience, packaging or supply chain design.
Within these areas, recent projects have included delivery of a circular economy initiative from concept, through to implementation of a closed loop supply chain, and preparing a detailed geopolitical supply chain risk study paper. We have also developed an accounting methodology for supply chain greenhouse gas emissions and water usage, led a key project to source commodity intelligence, and completed a sustainability impact assessment for our distribution compound, whilst modelling distribution for peak manufacturing scenarios and deploying packaging efficiency improvements.
Commercial Supply Chain Graduates (Gaydon, Whitley)
At the heart of our commercial supply chain operation, you will manage demand planning and parts availability, to ensure we deliver a modern luxury customer experience and bring our Reimagine strategy to life.
This function is undergoing a transformation to drive simplicity, growth and our go-to-market strategy, making customers smile at every touch point. You’ll play a pivotal role in making this happen, through delivering the right parts and vehicles to the right place at the right time. You can expect to be challenged every day as you develop a rigorous and commercially focused approach to planning, and enjoy ongoing support from industry-leading experts backed by continual learning opportunities.
WHAT’S REQUIRED?
You will have or expect to achieve a 2:2 degree or higher in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or any Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) subject.
We’ll also consider candidates with a Business Studies, Programme and Project Management, Humanities or any other relevant degree if it includes a substantial quantitative or analytical element.
In addition, you will have a real passion for problem-solving and the curiosity to understand business challenges and deliver innovative solutions. You will also have strong numerical and interpersonal skills and the confidence to champion new initiatives.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
Our 2024 graduate programme salary is £31,000, with a £2,000 joining bonus to welcome you to JLR. After two years, you will progress from the graduate programme on a £38,000 salary.
