The Research and Development function is responsible for the identification, development, and delivery of new products and processes, enabling the business to satisfy customer demands, access new markets, and drive profitable growth.
A vacancy has arisen in the Processing and Testing team, within the Laminating and Processing Group. Consisting of scientists and project managers, the team develop and validate glass processing technologies for the automotive and architectural businesses.
This position requires a quality-focused, self-motivated person capable of applying scientific knowledge and methodology to technical problems. Activities include both conceptual and practical tasks, involving hands-on development in collaboration with suppliers, partners, and other business functions. Good communication is essential to ensure that results are understood across the organisation. The successful applicant will be receptive to new challenges and capable of applying their academic skills to diverse problems. We wish to invest in someone who will be a long-term asset to our organisation and develop skills and knowledge critical to the future of our company.
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in physics, chemistry, materials science or similar. They should display a passion for science and innovation, a creative mind, and a desire to implement new technologies.
The R&D function has a global spread and operates in all NSG sites. The job holder should anticipate some overseas travel and be able to work effectively with colleagues across the world. A full UK driving licence and car ownership would be an advantage due to the rural location of the site.
