The Product Studies group sits within the Earth, Navigation and Science directorate (ENS) which undertakes the design and production of Earth Observation, Navigation & Science satellite systems. The group works on a range of studies and R&D programmes directed at next generation satellite systems and products.
The department requires a bright, enthusiastic and talented graduate engineer to work on a range of projects and internal R&D activities. This role requires a highly proactive and technically passionate individual. A strong ability to rapidly come up to speed with new technologies is essential as is an enquiring and creative approach.
Main activities of the role may include;
• Technical analysis of customer and market needs and development of
system and product concepts.
• Modelling scientific processes using Matlab or equivalent tool.
• Development of software prototypes as required to support investigative activities.
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a project context.
• Spacecraft mission analysis.
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;
• A strong interest and understanding of satellite systems.
• Strong mathematical background.
• Experience in complex algorithm development including usage of a scientific programming tool/language.
• Experience of Programming languages e.g. C/C++, Java, scripting languages etc.
• Technical document authoring.
• Ability to present complex technical solutions coherently and to an appropriate level of detail.

This role will be based in Portsmouth and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
