Build your future from the foundations up……

CALA is the UK’s most upmarket major homebuilder, a leading developer of premium homes and sustainable communities in affluent areas of southern England and Scotland. The CALA brand is highly regarded within the industry and aspirational for many homebuyers. With a customer-led focus, we design places and build homes for purchasers who value a premium product, and we have a strong heritage in the market for detached family homes. The homes we build are characterised by exceptional design, sector-leading build quality, and work is regularly recognised in many coveted industry awards – CALA collected Silver for ‘Large Housebuilder of the Year’ at the 2017 WhatHouse? Awards, and achieved the award for ‘Customer Service Excellence’ at the Scottish Home Awards 2017.

CALA Homes (East) Ltd are looking for a Planning & Design Graduate to join the Falkirk team in September 2018 to support our fast paced and growing business. We have offices in Scotland, the Midlands and the South East of England and are currently in the midst of a very exciting period of growth with the aim of building 2,500 homes by 2020.

The Graduate Programme offers a unique opportunity to start your career and develop your own skills through our two year graduate training programme which will include a rotational aspect across disciplines. You will join one of the UK’s top 10 National House Builders and will be given real responsibilities as soon as you join the business and see a tangible difference from the contributions you make. You will be supported and welcomed into a positive, friendly and respectful culture.

To be an effective member of the Planning & Design team, you should have an interest in residential layouts and planning. You will need to work closely with all the other departments within the business to provide information and the justification to purchase Land.

It is an exciting, dynamic and fast paced job and good social skills are paramount. The ideal candidate will have an Architectural interest and a degree in Master Planning, Urban Design or similar is valuable although other degrees will be considered.

You will be mainly responsible for assisting with layouts and 3D models for planning applications and you must be reliable and flexible and able to act on your own initiative. You should be self-motivated and pro-active in your approach to your work and must have demonstrable organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

You will contribute to a strong culture which strives to achieve 100% customer satisfaction and design excellence. We are committed to investing in and developing our people, delivering business excellence and adding value for our customers. In exchange for your commitment to our fundamental values of Passion, Quality, Respect and Delivery, we offer a competitive package including generous annual leave entitlement, discretionary bonus scheme, professional development opportunities and more.

For more information you can contact the CALA HR team at using the subject heading ‘Planning & Design Graduate – Ref 5044’ by 24 June 2018.
