Throughout our history we have always taken on the challenges of creating the most prestigious, sustainable and desirable cars.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Vehicles are becoming increasingly reliant on more software every year as the industry moves to providing rich end to end mobility experiences for the customer. The automotive industry is leading the way globally in its use of new digital technology to connect vehicles and provide digital experiences to customers.

At Jaguar Land Rover, our software engineering teams are responsible for designing and developing software which runs both inside and outside of the vehicle, supporting all of the features a customer expects from a Jaguar Land Rover product.

During your Graduate Programme you will get to work in our world leading global digital development centre in Manchester UK. The group is responsible for creating our next generation digital connected vehicle and product platform for vehicles globally. We use iterative and concurrent engineering approaches to provide robust software innovation and integration into Jaguar Land Rover products, leading in our use of DevOps and Agile to deliver world class code. You will be creating software in this manner and be expected to innovate and contribute to our software creation approach.

There are many different projects that you could be engaged in from day one including software over the air vehicle updates, vehicle IOT connection, big data analytics platforms customer facing digital apps. You could be part of a team implementing a cloud-based infrastructure providing the tools and environment for large software teams to work within. Elastic cloud architectures, infrastructure as code and a variety of scripting languages will be used to create the environment.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Excellence runs throughout our entire business and we expect you to be the same. So, as well as a degree in software engineering; computer science, maths, physics, cyber security, or data at 2:2 level or higher, you’ll need drive, creativity, a keen eye for detail, and a never-ending commitment to delivering results.

Through placements in your assigned area of engineering, you’ll discover our dedication to developing excellence runs throughout the business. Your innovation and creativity will be challenged every day, as you develop a rigorous and commercially focused approach to your work.

You will be based at our Manchester office. However, as we are engaged in software engineering in our Whitley and Gaydon offices in Warwickshire, there is the possibility of a placement here based on your development and business needs.

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

Your innovation and creativity will be challenged every day, as you develop a rigorous and commercially focused approach in your work. And, with on-going support from industry leading experts and continual learning opportunities, you’ll quickly realise that our programmes have been designed to be as inspiring as the pioneering vehicles you’ll help produce.

Whichever part of the business you join your hard work and contribution deserves recognition. You’ll receive a competitive salary of £29,000 per annum, a £2,000 joining bonus, along with a generous holiday allowance.
