Who are we looking for?
• As our ideal Operations Management Graduate you will need to be enthusiastic, well organised, and self-motivated.
• You will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject with a minimum achievement of a 2:1 classification.
What might my 2 year programme entail?
Tarmac has developed a strong Maintenance Term Business, Highway Services, within its Contracting Division with a number of high profile Highway Maintenance Contracts across the Country. As a result there is an opportunity for a Graduate to join the team to develop into a future Supervisor to progress to Contracts / Operations / Service Manager.
A variety of commercial, operational and technical related tasks will be undertaken to provide a rounded understanding of Maintenance Term Contracts & the Highways industry. Working with various management heads the role holder will undertake a number of projects through their placement, the scope and content of which will be determined based on the relevant business needs. The successful applicant will gain experience of Highway Maintenance Contract delivery with the largest Contractor and Service Provider within the UK Highways Sector
This role is part of a national team based across 8 Contract locations, nationally.
The role with report to the local General Manager (GM), there are 5 General Managers (GM) who directly report to the Highway Services Director. Each GM has a team of Service & Operations Managers that manage each Maintenance Term Contract. Within each Contract, reporting to the Service/Operations Manager there is a Commercial team, Operational team and an Administration team.
As part of this role you will be required to regularly travel to different business locations and to working sites, as such as full clean driving license is a requirement of this role. The successful candidate will be provided with a Company vehicle.
