Office of Rail and Road

Regulatory Policy Analyst

£30,309 - £37,015

  • Regional: £30,309 - £33,072 / London: £34,317 - £37,015
  • Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, London, Manchester, York

Your work will focus on developing the policy approach by which we regulate Network Rail and other rail infrastructure managers.

The rail network plays a vital economic and social role, providing over 1.7 billion passenger journeys and moving around 80 million tonnes of goods and raw materials each year. The industry as a whole is also changing rapidly, with further wide-ranging reforms expected in the near future. We are adapting our regulation in response to these changes, to support the continued growth of the network while maintaining the quality and reliability of existing services.

In this role, you will get involved in tackling these issues straight away, helping to formulate policy options and reach robust decisions. You will be working with colleagues across the office on some of the key policy questions affecting our sector, as well as with other government departments and the wider rail industry. Above all, you will be working to improve how the railways work and making a positive difference to the experience of millions of people in the UK.
