About us

NFU Mutual enjoys an enviable reputation for trustworthiness, honesty and straight dealing within the insurance industry. Our philosophy is to provide our members - and we have more than 900,000 of them - with the insurance cover they need, at a fair price and with a first class service. It's a philosophy that continues to underpin our business success, just as it has done for over 100 years.

Pricing at NFU Mutual

As a mutual with a proud history and an exciting future, we put long term customer relationships before short-term profits. We work hard to ensure that our operating costs are significantly lower than the industry average, enabling us to return more to our members in the form of claims. This sets us apart from our competitors. Ours is a pricing strategy based on building long term relationships and delivering back to our members. It's a strategy, a philosophy, which works - for our customers and for our business: last year we made an underwriting profit for the fourth year running.

About the role

We're looking for graduate analysts to help shape and develop our pricing capabilities. Whether you join us to work in data or pricing, you will focus your mind and energies on model building and analysing complex queries. You'll identify trends, patterns and problems, conduct performance and root cause analysis and then make recommendations for solutions. All of which means that you'll be involved in the complete lifecycle from analysis, through recommendations and governance, to implementation.

It's important to say that we're committed to investing in you. Wherever you are in your career, whether you're a recent graduate or you already have some relevant experience, we'll train, support and develop you. We'll get you up-to-speed with analytical tools like RADAR and EMBLEM. We'll train you in SQL and we'll provide a study support package for you to gain a relevant professional qualification.

About you

You're inquisitive and curious, analytical and numerical. You see a complex problem and your first instinct is 'How do we solve it?' You will be a recent graduate with a degree in a relevant subject, such as mathematics, statistics, sciences, engineering or economics, or have relevant industry experience.

The rewards

As well as the opportunity to shape and define our pricing strategy, today and in the future, you'll enjoy a competitive benefits package (which includes a contributory pension scheme, company performance related bonus, flexi-time and 25 days' holiday). We're also enthusiastically committed to your continued professional development.
