As the UK’s largest owner and operator of Gas Distribution networks in the UK, we distribute gas to approximately 11 million homes and businesses – that’s half of the UK. Gas is a key component of the UK’s energy mix, providing approximately 85% of the UK’s total domestic energy consumption.


To apply for this placement you'll need to be on track for a 2.1 degree classification or above in a Commercial discipline.


Contract Management and Controls (CMAC) is responsible for the management of Gas Distribution’s biggest contract in the form of the Gas Distribution Strategic Partnerships (GDSP). The GDSP ensure the delivery of Gas Distribution’s mains replacement programme and connections activities. In addition CMAC undertake the management of all contracts providing Products, Works and Services to Gas distribution across hundreds of suppliers.


On the programme, you’ll work in one or more departments at the fore front of Gas Distribution’s contract management. You’ll provide ideas and analysis to help us maximise performance, ensure the highest standards of safety and customer service are being delivered, and to ensure Gas Distribution's obligations under the contracts are being met.
