Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme's conclusion.


This graduate role is intended to develop Airbus's next generation of lead subsystem engineers, in particular structures, spacecraft accommodation, thermal control and liquid and gas propulsion systems for spacecraft. You will be working in concurrent engineering teams to develop new spacecraft designs so teamwork is important. With experience in a few years they will also get cost and schedule responsibilities. This department supplies the lead engineers designing both the Bepi Colombo spacecraft mission to Mercury and the ExoMars Rover being built today in Stevenage.


Tasks


Main activities of the role may include;


• analysis of performance parameters
• generation of subsystem and equipment specifications
• verification definition by analysis and / or test
• design review pack generation
• presentations to customers and interfacing with suppliers

Skills
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;


• 2:1 in an Engineering subject, Maths, Physics or Chemistry
• A passion for mechanical engineering
• Strong in maths, physics and material properties
• Generation and use of mathematical models
• Team-working, team leadership,
• Good at written and verbal reporting.

This role will be based in Stevenage and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
