Details

Description

As a graduate at Petrofac, you’ll work with world-class experts on some of the most significant energy projects in the world. You’ll join us in our mission to design, build, manage and maintain infrastructure for diverse clients including some of the world’s leading energy companies. At every step of the way, you can look forward to friendly advice and guidance from your mentors and colleagues. Together we’ll enable clients to meet the world’s evolving energy needs.

What we offer you

You’ll receive structured training aligned to a professional body (IMechE), giving you credentials to last your whole career. Training is delivered in a variety of ways: within Petrofac, externally and on-the-job. You’ll also have the advantage of personal development programmes to build up your interpersonal and leadership skills.

Crucially, you’ll make a real contribution from day one through hands-on work experience projects that broaden your professional experience and knowledge of Petrofac. We’ll match you with an expert as a mentor to provide day-to-day support.

Your role

This is a great opportunity to develop a wide range of technical skills and knowledge in subsea and pipeline engineering. With close supervision and guidance from senior colleagues, you’ll get involved in everything from pipeline route planning, structural design and materials selection, through to the development of construction methods, specifications and drawings.

As your skills develop across a range of projects, so will your responsibilities. You’ll also enjoy opportunities to carry out research to support the preparation of designs and specifications, and to produce studies related to concept development and design. And you’ll play an active role in problem solving, analysis, and ensuring compliance with quality and other vital standards.

What you’ll bring

We’ll expect you to have or expect a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. And of course, you’ll be keen to keep learning.

You should also demonstrate:

  • Good understanding of engineering principles and the ability to work to standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to develop creative solutions to technical challenges and problems
  • Good communication skills, both in person and in writing
  • A collaborative approach to work
  • The ability to plan your own workload and meet deadlines
