Fabric/Garment Technology Graduate Programme

M&S fabrics look good and feel great. We’re pioneers in this area and have a rich track record of creating new products based on our understanding of our customers’ needs – from launching the first machine washable suits for men to pioneering fabrics and yarns such as Heatgen™ and Body Sensor.

About the Programme

Join our Fabric or Garment teams and you’ll work hand in hand with our garment technologists, designers, buyers and merchandisers to help deliver the fashion, quality and value our customers and the fashion industry love – all while ensuring our brand values remain seamless.

As a Graduate Trainee Assistant Technologist, you could find yourself working at the cutting edge of tailoring technology, helping to make our garments stand out in a crowd, resist more washes and last even longer. As well as ensuring that all our clothes are designed to fit & flatter our customers. From our Stay New™ fabrics that help reduce colour-fading and bobbling, to our Stormwear™ technology that enables wearers to stay dry, we’re always one step ahead of the competition.

About you

A textiles science, garment technology or material science degree will be essential for this role. You’ll work across all areas, harnessing the best technologies to meet the needs of our customers, developing new technologies, reviewing and testing our products. As well as on-the-job learning, you’ll also train how to use our specialist tools and work closely with our suppliers to make sure their standards are as high as ours.
