This is a renowned industrial/manufacturing firm with a substantial presence in Leeds. As a leading player in its sector, the company specialises in engineering and manufacturing, employing over 500 people across various departments.

Job Description
• Utilise SolidWorks and SWOOD to develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of joinery products, ensuring accuracy and precision in design.
• Develop CNC programs directly from CAD models using SWOOD CAM tools, optimizing tool paths for efficiency and precision in the manufacturing process.
• Design and oversee the creation of prototypes using CNC machines, allowing for practical testing and validation of design concepts before full-scale production.
• Select and recommend suitable materials, considering both functionality and cost-effectiveness. Optimize design for minimal material waste and efficient production using CNC machining.
• Work closely with CNC operators, production managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing, addressing any technical issues that arise.
• Support quality checks on designs and final products, ensuring they meet industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Adjust designs based on feedback to maintain high-quality output

Job Requirements

A successful Design Engineer should have:
• Degree in Engineering or a related field
• Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
• The ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively
• Great communication and presentation skills
• A creative mind with a focus on innovation and efficiency
