This is a 6 month internship paying the London Living Wage with the potential to be extended or convert to a permanent job.


How can you expect to spend your day?
You will join the Technical Team as an I.T. Technician to offer technical support to staff on a range of issues. You will have a good understanding of operating systems and office applications, whilst looking to learn about web programming and development. This is a great internship for a recent graduate looking to gain experience in a technical or IT based position.

Tasks you can expect to be responsible for include:

• Provide technical support to employees, ensuring assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently and on time.
• Attend meetings as a member of the technical team and propose solutions using apps, tech developments and tools.
• Conduct basic research for solving technical problems.
• Take inventory of computer equipment.
• Prepare computers.
• Activate and trouble-shoot mobile phone configuration both iPhones and android.
• Manage FTP site.
• Manage printers.
• Set up videoconferences.
• Provide technical assistance at events.
• Manage user accounts and mailboxes.
• Configure remote access.
• Prepare equipment for return.
• When desktop support duties are not required there will be ample opportunity and structure for the intern to pick up, learn and practice web programming skills with PHP, HTML5 and WordPress.

What are the ideal candidate's skills, personality and qualifications?
• An academic qualification in IT or a relevant field (A-Level or equivalent).
• Strong working knowlegd of MS Office 2016 and MS 365.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows 10 and OS X.
• Knowledge of Active Directory is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of networks and communication protocols.
• Energetic and hardworking individual.
• Can prioritise workload when required.
• Completed or working towards a college diploma or university degree in IT or a relevant field.
• Any previous tech support experience.
• The ability to carry sometimes heavy equipment (20kg) such as computers, monitors and printers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong aptitude for problem-solving.
• Web Programming skills are a bonus, e.g. HTML 5, PHP, MySQL or WordPress.

What is the previous person doing this job doing now?
There have been two interns previously doing this role, both were hired into a permanent position and remain with the company today after 1 and 3 years respectively.
