At Viridor, we’re one of the UK’s leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies and part of the FTSE 250 Pennon Group. We put waste into action, transforming it into high quality recyclables, raw materials and energy and are at the forefront of the UK’s green economy.

Fast growing and investing over £1.2bn in the development of a network of advanced Energy Recovery Facilities across the UK, we’re reducing the reliance on landfill or exporting waste for treatment whilst becoming a revenue generating business.

As a graduate joining Viridor on the Management Trainee Scheme (MTS), you’ll be degree qualified and looking to develop your skills, knowledge and experience required for a substantive role in operations, engineering, projects, performance improvement or business in one of our functions. These include: Energy Recovery Facilities, Recycling or Landfill Centres, Logistics and Central Functions.

In our 2 year MTS programme, you’ll complete structured series of placements across the business building your experience and skills in Year 1. In Year 2, we will work with you to assess which business area you would you like to specialise in or develop more wider experience in line with your career goals and our opportunities. We will always try to match these as closely as possible. We’ll also ensure that you benefit from training courses and seminars that develop these skills further.

During all placements, in all business areas, you will actively input and assist with all relevant responsibilities and activities and be welcomed as a full member of the teams.

A qualified graduate, you’ll be adaptable and have strong relationship building skills as you will be liaising with stakeholders across the business at all levels; you’ll also be highly motivated with good communication, organisational, numeracy and literacy skills. Whilst we don’t expect full knowledge or experience of Health and Safety legislation and the recycling and waste management industry, an understanding or awareness would be beneficial and desirable.

The role will be based across the UK in line with placements with UK travel and can be discussed further through the selection process.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-growing business and be a part of how we’re shaping the future.

Closing date is 5.30pm, 18th June 2018. Intake date is 1st October 2018.
