The Systems Engineering Team comprises subject matter experts in all aspects of systems design which are responsible for the design and development of complex secure systems. These include network & service management, to deliver services to our customers in line with their evolving needs. The Systems Engineering Team is also responsible for applying best practice to ensure the continued integrity and security of the networks (the "System Design Authority" function)

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and documenting IS design tasks as a Graduate IS Design Engineer. This includes agreeing requirements, deliverables and milestones with the team leader for a scope of work within the overall project and then designing and rollout out their designs under guidance from senior professionals to customers across the world. The candidate will gain an appreciation of the range of technical activities within the company and develop and insight to where the future lies.

The assignments that will be offered will be dependent on projects that are in progress at the time, the candidate will be on a regular rotation of assignments to broaden their understanding of the capabilities inside the company and to develop their experience and understanding.


¤ To be a member of a multi-disciplined team and contribute to system design against a defined set of requirements
¤ Develop personal capabilities through training and contribution based on experience

¤ Working within the System Design team o Develop an understanding of architectural principles to deliver network solutions that comply with customer requirements o Engineering best practice to design and deliver a system o How systems are designed and implemented o How System designs are baselined o How to evaluate suppliers equipment to maintain the effectiveness and security of the network
¤ Gain an understanding how complex networks are implemented and operated in a secure environment
¤ Assist with the development of new products through the R&D program

Relevant degree disciplines: ¤ Degree-level (or equivalent) in Engineering / Telecommunications / IT related subjects

Relevant degree modules: ¤ IT & Communications related

Technical / IT / Behavioural / Language skills required:
¤ Willingness to travel, may be required to support Exhibitions UK & overseas
¤ Will be subject to UK MOD Security Vetting
¤ Competent and familiar with MS Office Suite

The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.

This role will be based in Newport and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
